Former Formula 1 driver Hans-Joachim Stuck is at a loss for Haas` relationship with Mick Schumacher.


Stuck criticized team leader Gunther Steiner for Haas not yet renewing the German driver`s contract. An Audi option in 2026 is considered unrealistic by Hans-Joachim if Schumacher does not retain his place in Formula 1.


Unfortunately, it`s too early to talk about Audi, because the first season of the team will take place only in 2026. If Mick is not in Formula 1 by that time, then he will leave for good. You need to understand this very clearly.


I would like to again express my opinion clearly: I believe that Mick deserves a place in Formula 1. He showed that he was able to superbly manage the car and fly quickly. A young racer has to crash fireballs sometimes because he doesn`t know where the limit is.


Gunther Steiner, no doubt, erred in his criticism and unnecessary pressure on Mick. If there`s room and you don`t take Mick, then you`re a fool! He will be a great pilot in the future with the right car, " Stuck told ServusTV.


Schumacher`s rival for Haas` cockpit in 2023 is Aston Martin reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg.
