Brooklyn`s star point guard Kyrie Irving requested a trade to another team from the club`s management in the first days of February and eventually moved to Dallas.


Before these events, the Nets and Irving were negotiating a contract extension. According to ESPN insiders Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, Brooklyn offered Kyrie a 3-year agreement, which included some options that protected the club from possible unpredictable actions of the basketball player.


The Nets were willing to discuss an extension of up to three seasons, but only if Irving agreed to certain terms that would protect the team if he didn`t play enough games. The club`s motivation was that since Kyrie had missed over 100 games analyzed by odds draw tips since arriving in Brooklyn, they needed insurance. Irving wanted a longer extension without any conditions, Wojnarowski and Shelburne said in the material.


The 30-year-old basketball player rejected the offer and made a request for a trade.
