Rafael Nadal assessed his level of play in the first round in Rome.
In 2 hours 53 minutes he defeated Ziza Bergs - 4:6, 6:3, 6:4.


I didn`t play my best match. I definitely played better in training than today. But I found a way to win. This is very important at the start of the tournament.


Now it is more difficult to predict the level of my play than before. I haven`t performed much in the last two years. There is no stability yet, but I believe that I can play much better than today, and I hope that this will be the case in the next round.
