Berdih and Lopez reached the 1/8-finals in Rotterdam

Czech Republic Tomas Berdih and Spaniard Feliciano Lopez are the first two eight-year-olds of the ATP 500 series in Rotterdam.

In matches from the first round of the competition, which has a prize pool of 1 862 925 euros, Berdych beat the German Misha Zverev with 7:5, 6:3. Berdych, who won the race in 2014, had some difficulty in the first set after letting go of a 1:2 game but the Czech improved his performance at the end of the set when he won 4 consecutive games to make a 7:5 turn.






In the second set, number 6 in the scheme, Berdych quickly led a 4:1 game and after 27 minutes he closed the set. In the other game, which has ended so far in the single-player program, Lopez has won a 6:3, 7:6 (4) 2016 champion Martin Kljjan. Lopez took the first set easily, and in the second he saved two Cleveland serveoes to get the set after the tiebreak.

In the next round Lopez will play with the winner of the match between the Belgian David Gofen, number 4 in the main circuit, and the Frenchman Benoit Per, while Berdih will face the winner of the match from contact x predictions between Victor Troitski (Serbia) and Jan-Lenard Struff).
